CORES
DIVE , was
called out to perform a prop cleaning on
a tanker, as well as a video inspection.
The problem was the port that the ship was
in was a 12 hour drive away. The crew was
quickly mobilized and made the trip. The
work was performed and the ship was able
to proceed on schedule.
CORES
DIVE , recently
completed the installation of shock absorbing
fender piles in the Port of Saint John.
The work involved the lining up of cross
braces and installing them. The problem
was the large number of one-inch holes that
were required to be drilled. Our fabrication
shop came up with a design and built a custom
made hydraulic drill press that mounted
easily to the steel H beams and allowed
for the drilling of the necessary holes.
This resulted in substantial timesavings
for the general contractor, Atlantic Underground
Services of Riverview, N.B. and allowed
for a much higher quality finished product.
CORES
DIVE was awarded the contract to supply
and install the "insulating jackets"
on 210 of the concrete piles under the terminal
at Rodney Terminal in Saint John Harbour
N.B. Canada. These jackets help to prevent
the freezing and thawing that occurs during
the high and low tides experienced by the
Bay of Fundy. The result is, that piles
that would normally have to be concrete
encapsulated in a few years time now last
for years and years. This
is the second year in a row that Cores Dive
has been awarded the supply and install
contract
CORES
DIVE - was called out by a local ferry
company to perform a hull cleaning and prop
polishing.
A crew with equipment was mobilized and
was able to complete the two tasks in one
night, while the ship was not running her
route. This meant no down time at all for
the ferry and the end result is a substantial
fuel savings.
